Wood grain/color will vary from item to item, I DO NOT CONSIDER SMALL WORM HOLES OR KNOTS/CRACKS TO BE DEFECTS IN THE WOOD. Rustic and weathered materials will likely have defects like: knots, cracks/checks, wormholes. Large Defects will be filled with epoxy and they will not affect the integrity of the piece. I do all my woodwork in my wood shop which includes a CNC router among various other woodworking tools.
We then sand, paint and finish for a long lasting product that you and I will be proud to display.
